Future Cities competition entry

Briefed with providing an imaginative, tailored and efficient solution to London's urban issues in 2065. Faced with unprecedented urban population growth, straining infrastructure networks and extreme environmental pressures, my entry was a bold rethinking of the city's key infrastructure networks; the veins that bring lift to the city's skeleton. A key site for this would be the Metropolitan line struggling underneath Euston Road, when flooding and depleting fossil fuels render both of these transport lines obselete, a new rail system suspended over an artifical flood canal with take the place of the old rail excavations. The key to enduring infrastructure is multifunctionality and even distrubition of service hubs, thus the structure of the network is embedding with utility transfer, renewable energy production and sustainbable food sources.
